How important is the teacher to student success on the SAT and ACT?

Better instruction + more focused prep time = better chance of a high score.

Although it comes off as obvious, all clinical studies show that the more qualified the teacher is, the better the results are. (Hence, our motto: Better Teachers. Better Value. Better Results.) In a nutshell, the best teachers accomplish more and get students to think on a deeper level. This is why:

  • you need a qualified professional to relay the information effectively to students
  • you don’t want a college student teaching your children just because he or she scored well on a SAT practice test
  • you don’t want a math teacher teaching English and vice versa.

The SAT and ACT account for approximately 50% of a student’s chances of getting into college, so you need the best teachers to maximize these scores.

The quality of the teacher is so critical to any student’s success (and especially success on the SAT) because with the SAT, students have to learn how to think critically. Critical thinking is a necessary component of long term success. It can honed by a teacher that knows how get students to think critically through questions. Patrick and Laurence spend a great deal of time during their SAT prep classes helping to expand their students’ minds to think deeper and more critically because they know that when it comes to the SAT, this makes a huge difference. They also know that it makes a tremendous difference in the potential success of the student at the college level.

The ACT is different from the SAT in that it is more of a reading test. Though there is Reading Section, a Grammar Section, a Math Section, and a Science Section, each section revolves around reading effectively and efficiently. Speed is king here, and it is important to know that the Science Section is not based on science but on science-reading. (Think experiments and write-ups, all the fun things you did in high school.)

SAT and ACT prep classes are extremely important to a student’s success and you want people  who are knowledgeable, honest, and dedicated by your side to guide you through the process. When you have people like Patrick and Laurence to guide you, you can rest assured that you are being taken care of by two of the best teachers around.
