College essays often present themselves as very difficult tasks. For many students, just reading the college essay questions and putting the pen to paper is nearly impossible. Students have been told their entire lives not to brag about themselves, and now, with their futures seemingly looming, they have to write an essay about themselves that can help or hurt their chances of selection to what could be every college applied to. But this isn’t the only problem.
From my experience, I have found that almost every student believes that a college essay should be a standard essay just like the ones in English or social studies class. This can’t be any more wrong. I show you how to write amazingly interesting and engaging college essays and responses to the application questions that are guaranteed to make admissions officers take notice. And that’s what you want. You don’t want your college essay to be just another essay.
So, you have your grades from school and your scores from the SAT and ACT. Now, the college essay and application process is ahead of you.
However, what most students and families don’t realize is how stressful the college admissions process can be. Unfortunately, the college essay and application can be an exhausting process, so it’s always good to have someone who knows what he’s doing to guide you.
That’s what I do: I guide students through the college essay and application process, showing them how to craft amazing and insightful responses. Your college essays and applications will look the way they need to look so they stand apart from an extremely competitive field of applicants.
The best part: You are the one who has expressed your ideas and unlocked your natural creativity!
As an experienced English teacher and writer, I know how to guide students to present the best versions of themselves so they can make their stories come to life. Together, we craft creative and unique essays.
I have over 20 years of experience helping students find their stories and voice so they can craft amazing college essays and application responses. I am proud to say that I have helped countless students get into the colleges of their dreams!
Once we begin working together you will find that I am friendly and here to help with anything you need, whether it be advice about when to take the SAT or ACT or something else school related.
I pride myself on my years of experience. With that comes a knowledge of how to help pull what students want to say out and onto paper. I’m a believer that all students have the ability to write well. They just need the proper guidance.
“Paul applied to 8 schools. Not only did he get into all 8 schools, but he received some beautiful scholarships. We couldn’t be happier for him and I wanted to thank you for working with him for the past year.”
“Gabriella got into all her choices. We can’t thank you enough for your time, expertise, and devotion to helping her through the college admissions process. Thanks again!”
“Michael’s college essay is just beautiful. The way it begins with my father and flows through the rest of his story is just amazing. Thank you so much for working with him.”
In my eBook Setting Yourself Up for Success: A Guide to Help You Make the Best Decisions about the SAT, ACT, and College Process, I discuss how applicants are best served when they view the college admissions process as a presentation on a silver platter. The better the silver platter, the better the chances of that student gaining admission.
In order to create the best application section of the silver platter, students need a great college essay and application. We start by brainstorming ideas, opening up the memory bank to find an intriguing story that shows something special about the applicant. From there, students are guided through the writing process, culminating in a perfectly polished college essay.
Applications are a little more complex as questions vary from school to school. I guide students through the research of potential colleges to select the best ones to meet their individual needs. I also guide students through the questions on college applications. The end goal is to have the most polished college application possible. When the admissions officers read your application, they want to know if you are a good fit for their school. Knowing what to write and how to write it is a major part of this. In the end, you want the admissions officer to say, “This applicant is a perfect fit for our campus.”
