The college essay is a critical component of the college application process. By writing an effective college essay, students are able to humanize themselves while showing colleges they are more than “just a number.” Aside from the college application questions and responses, the college essay affords students with the opportunity to tell a story about themselves, delving into who they are as a person.
The college essay is submitted to all colleges, so it is critically important that the college essay be one that stands out. Too often students are instructed by teachers and others to write an essay for their college essay. This is not what the college essay is. Instead, students need to understand that they are telling a story that shows who they are as a person, a student, an individual. Failure to do so on the college essay can significantly lower a student’s chances of admissions. We are experts at the college essay and are here to help students present the best versions of themselves.
The next step of the college admissions process is to fill out the college application perfectly. The focus of our Long Island college advising services is to guide you through the process at every step of the way. There is a lot to consider with the application, and this is before you even write a response. Our College Admissions Advisors are experienced and take away the guesswork so you can experience less stress.
The college application questions and responses vary by school. Within the common application you will find extra questions for each school. From our experience, having a College Advisor by your side during this process is critical. All questions have word limits, so in many ways responding to them is like doing a puzzle. However, this is an extremely important puzzle in which grammar and content matter.
The college application usually includes long responses as well. Most students and parents don’t realize how much goes into completing even one college application, let alone five or fifteen. Needless to say, having a College Admissions Advisor by your side coaching you through it all is invaluable.
The review process is a critical component of the college application process. Without review, there is the potential for a less than perfect application. Our College Admissions Advisors won’t let that happen. When they review a college application, they review it for both grammar and content. Doing so ensures that the application is perfect and ready for submission.
The final step in the college application process is submission. However, this sometimes comes with fear and lots of nerves. We are here to take you through the process so you can release your SAT and/or ACT score and submit your college application with confidence.
